My Most important life lesson

You get in life what you have the courage to ask for.-
Oprah Winfrey

Hi guys!  It’s Queen She known as Me here, and today if you would allow me to, I’d like to share my most important life lessons. I’m turning 52 years old in one week.  I can say, the quote above rang so true in my life, and at an early, early age.

I was eight years old, and trying out for the drama/theatre club at my elementary school.  The teacher over the club was one of the most loved and adored teachers, partly because of how special she always made each and every child feel.  She always encouraged us, especially in the arts; writing, drama, and music.  I participated in all, but I excelled in writing, and I was particularly shy in speaking, I preferred visual communications.  I did learn to speak to God though, the only time I was comfortable communicating with another person.

I learned at an early age as well how to pray; how to communicate with God and ask Him to be a part of my life.  I don’t know, it just kind of happened, or maybe I picked it up from church; I learned to talk with God as a small child, and I remember most of the conversations I had with Him.  I think it was a stressful time in my childhood at this point.  But if I prayed, I always found peace immediately afterwards.

There was an audition, and I wanted to try out for a part in a play.  I was a shy and timid little kid, scrawny and all.  I felt that praying asking God for something as menial as helping me to get a part in a play was a gross misuse of prayer time, and surely I could handle this without His help.  I auditioned, and you guessed it, I didn’t get the part.  The teacher told me she felt as if I could do way better, but she just didn’t see as much of the Tina in me up on the stage as she saw in the classroom.  Something was missing she said.

Phillippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God,” and Psalm 138:8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” These are the most important life lessons I have learned thus far.  From that day to this one, I have never ever again felt that my life or anything about it was too small to go to God about, or that I could do anything without Him.  Yeah.  Those were/are the lessons I learned and hold so dear.

What are some of your important life lessons learned?  Drop a few lines below and share!

Where in the World

Happy Monday Peeps!  Queen She known as me here and I’m journaling out loud again.  This time I’m sharing the destination that’s top of my wish list to travel to.

Do you remember the show “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego”? When the gumshoe received a phone call from the apprehended crook, who told the gumshoe where in the world to find Carmen?  Yeah, that’s how I want people to look for me when I’m away enjoying myself!

43.7711° N, 11.2486° E

Most who know me, know I’ve nicknamed myself “an amateur wine connoisseur” so I’m going to need lots of that on hand…red please.  Some of my other favorites like legumes, bread, cheese, vegetables, mushrooms, oh and OLIVE OIL is central to this country’s cuisine.  According to the above coordinates, where in the world would I be?  Tuscany.  Yep, I’d like to be a tourist in central Italy taking in some of the landscapes, the arts, learning some of the traditions, and drinking Chianti….lots and lots of it.

I’m not a nature lover, but in Tuscany, I would love to just take in the nature; from the Mediterranean vegetation to the beaches to the steep headlands and cliffs.  To be in awe of the scenery with my journal and my camera, would be a defining moment for me; a moment that would shape my very being and give me new outlooks on so many things that I’ve grown accustomed to that are just not good now.  To be able to experience this country’s culture would for me be a haven indeed.  A quiet, peaceful and pleasure filled life.

Plus I want to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa!  Just replace me with Diane Lane in the image below!

Humor Me

Hey Diva’s and Gents!  It’s Queen She known as me here and I’m journaling, writing everything in sight down!

I wanted to talk to you this week about humor, and it’s relation to a healthier you.  Last year, close to Thanksgiving holidays, I needed a change.  I wanted an emotional as well as physical change.  I wanted a completely different outlook than the one I had become accustomed to over the years. So right before the new-year, I started researching nutritional and emotional healing. After analyzing the materials I'd found, I realized that most of my years as an adult had been plagued with some heavy emotional baggage, and this lead to bad eating habits.  Ooh.  Okay definitely time for a change.

I’m proud to say I’ve been doing really well, and I’m excited with the change to my eating habits; if it grows from the dirt, I love it.  I’m more of a nonconformist that I’d ever realized with the current food pyramid, but that’s probably another blog post.

I also learned some things about emotional healing, and the one thing I found that changes your outlook emotionally is humor; good ol deep from the belly laughter.

Laughter has been associated to healing.  It helps with stress, takes your mind off your troubles, and improves your mood. I'm not a doctor, but I've been on enough medications to know there are so many medicines used out there to treat this or that; I’m not against them, because some are needed, but too many times we believe that medications are the only form of treatment and they’re not.  Laughter is free, and it’s an effective treatment you can do for yourself.

Life can be overwhelming.  Whatever you have in it that makes you laugh, use it more and laugh your ass off!

Here is a way you can get more laughter in your life. Readers Digest has what they call a Jokes Section; some are corny, some are silly, and some are downright hilarious.  Click that link above, and head on over there.. go on, you know you want to, and get some humor in your life.

Read, Read, Read. A Blog Sharing Post.

Hey Huns!  Queen She known as me here, and I’m a Diva Journaler,  jotting down everythang!

I’m an avid reader.  Reading takes me to a place of peace and tranquility, it relaxes me beyond relief.  Sometimes when I’m having trouble focusing or I become overwhelmed, I change directions,  hone in on a blog, a magazine, newspaper, or anything I can get my hands on and it helps me come back to center; I  feel calm, settled, and stressed free.  According to The Telegraph , “Psychologists believe this is because the human mind has to concentrate on reading and the distraction of being taken into a literary world eases the tensions in muscles and the heart.”  Well I definitely believe that to be true.

On my spazz out journeys (LOL) I come across so many great blogs (I wish I could share them all but I can’t, way too many!)  I want to drop a few of them on here; its’ so hard to narrow them down to four, but if you yourself are a blogger, you’ve probably seen these and more.  Please share some interesting ones you’ve come across, and let’s keep reading!

Also the image below, I borrowed from HTSABO, How To Start A Blog Online. Richard Goodwin  shared a remarkable guide, with a wealth of information on the how too's of and the pitfalls to starting a blog.  There's a link below the image to this great tool in case you're wanting to start you're own blog. How bout it?  I bet you could.  If you do, please send me the link.  I'm always excited to read.
